Sensitive kids soak up the feelings around them like little sponges. Then it all comes out at home.
Everything is energy, and each of us has an aura, like a bubble all around us. Busy places can drain our sensitive kids fast, and they often come home carrying feelings that were never theirs to begin with.
So in this episode I share the simple tools we use at our house to protect their energy in the morning and clear it at the end of the day.
The bedtime meditation for this episode
Ready to try these tools with your kids? Episode 109 is a four-minute bedtime meditation that puts them into practice, with a mama kangaroo and her joey. Then press play together tonight.
In this episode
- How sensitive kids absorb other people’s feelings, and the signs they’re overloaded
- Everything is energy: the aura bubble, and why busy places drain them
- “Energy vampires,” and how my son showed up as a natural healer for a classmate
- Morning white and gold light plus grounding roots, before school or on the car ride home
- A spoken affirmation that works like an energy boundary
- Patting and shaking out the body, from Qigong, to calm the vagus nerve
- Singing bowls, and solfeggio frequencies by chakra color at breakfast
- A nightly clearing meditation with bubbles, a golden sun and an animal lesson (I’ve collected about 100 of them!)
Try this: light and roots
Before school, or on the car ride home, have your child imagine white and gold light wrapping all the way around them like a bubble.
Then have them grow roots from the bottoms of their feet, deep down into the earth. It only takes a minute, and it gives them something to come back to when the day gets loud.

“Your kiddo doesn’t have to carry it all. And neither do you.”
